Formed in 1987, Loxwood Contacts was set up by Marcus Macleod and Ray Wood, who brought together a team with over 100 years experience in the manufacture, metallurgy and marketing of electrical contacts. The Company has since developed and expanded and is now equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and sophisticated quality control methods, registered BS EN ISO 9002.

From aerospace to domestic switching applications, the company has a commanding position in a highly competitive market, with an extensive customer base throughout all sectors of the electrical engineering industry.
Loxwood has a close association with the aerospace industry, in particular, which demands the highest levels of quality and reliability in areas such as material traceability and stores and handling procedures. Over the years, the company has gained considerable experience in this field through its dealing with aerospace manufacturers and sub-contractors and, to support its commitment to this market.
Quality has the highest priority in today's manufacturing industry. The integrity of an electrical contact is critical, arguably having the greatest influence on switch performance and hence on the safety and reliability of the finished product. Loxwood is committed to the continual development of its quality systems through investment in plant and people to meet the individual demands of clients.

For customers wishing to concentrate their resources on switch design and construction, Loxwood manufacturers and supplies complete contact assemblies, incorporating a solid or bi-metal contact. Manually or automatically riveted contact assemblies are produced depending on quantity and design. These can also be made using customer supplied components. To complete this service, contact backings are manufactured in a wide range of high conductivity and spring materials, including beryllium copper. In addition, general presswork is undertaken in precious metals, non-ferrous and ferrous metals and non-metallic materials.

Loxwood's growth, both at home and overseas, has been the result of two tenets. Firstly, a belief in the vital importance of the quality of its products and secondly, by providing the highest level of customer care. The company has earned an enviable reputation for its flexible approach to both low and high volume users. It has a pricing policy, which recognises the demands of customer's markets without compromising quality and it provides accurate and reliable deliveries to meet production deadlines. Loxwood contacts is undoubtedly at the forefront of this highly competitive market and has developed an extensive customer base through all sectors of the electrical engineering industry.
